Accelerator Powers Next-Generation Connectivity at Ship Canal House, Manchester
Accelerator Ltd has completed a major IT infrastructure upgrade at Ship Canal House, Manchester. The building has undergone a digital transformation to support multi-tenancy environments and deliver seamless connectivity for businesses. As part of this strategic initiative, the upgrades ensure that new tenants can move in and begin operations immediately—no delays, no downtime.
The Grade II listed building in King Street is located in one of Manchester’s most prestigious office and retail locations. Current tenants include lawyers, a bank, a darts club and a global accountancy firm.
The Accelerator Solution
The scope of works comprised the installation of networking equipment to support the multi-tenancy solution, together with the provision of a fibre backbone routed through the building’s central electrical riser. Accelerator Engineers worked from the basement up to Floor 9 installing fast fibre leased lines.
The project included:
- Installation of a fibre backbone routed through building risers, fully compatible with the network.
- Deployment of a dedicated Pro router to support the landlord’s network and ensure reliable connectivity.
- Installation of dual fibre junction boxes on each floor, linking data cabinets to risers for scalability and future-proofing.
- VOIP system, access control system, website domain management
- A variety of business software licenses and support services to maintain the high level of service required.
